We are seeking qualified interns to work from our city office in distribution and educational programming. These positions are unpaid. While specific start and end dates are flexible, interns will work from the last week of May through mid August. The intern will assist the Program Director and other program staff in facilitating nutrition outreach and education programs, including the Prescription Produce Plan, Grown To Go Community Mobile Market, and other community activities. These programs work with individuals and families to increase access to and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The program intern will work for 10-20 hours a week (hours are variable), assisting the program staff in tasks including preparing and distributing taste samples, facilitating community farm stands, assisting at cooking classes, helping to design and distribute educational materials for shoppers, among other tasks. Additional activities may include administrative support (including data collection and input), social media outreach, and farm work.
Interns should have experience working with community members. Creativity, flexibility, and an interest in promoting a more just food system are essential.
