Ash Hobson
Communications & Events Lead
Ash (she/her) is the Communications and Events Lead for Shalom Farms. With eight seasons in Virginia agriculture and over 15 years in photography, she brings a unique blend of storytelling, brand management, and community engagement to her work. Ash believes healthy, vibrant lives are fueled in part by healthy, nutritious food, but also by the joy of community and access to green spaces. She knows we are all delicately and complexly connected—to the land and to each other, and believes we can gracefully hold care for both, in each hand.
Outside of work, Ash finds joy in long-distance running, looking for charms of goldfinches with her 5-year-old, and celebrating the ever-turning wheel of the year. Her favorite farmer’s market is Birdhouse, she feels most adept in the kitchen over a simmering stock, and would love to hear your magical realism book recs.

He is excited to be back in Richmond after so many years away and to be working for an organization that is using agriculture to benefit people and strengthen communities throughout the area.
