About Shalom Farms

Shalom Farms is a nonprofit, food justice organization that seeks to build healthy communities by growing and sharing healthy food.  On our two Certified Naturally Grown farms we work with thousands of volunteers from all backgrounds each year to produce more than 200,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables, which we distribute throughout the Richmond, VA metro region through a variety of programs and partnerships.

As an organization, we are driven by collaborative processes, curiosity, and relationships.  We are passionate about addressing the complex nature of food access issues, committed to understanding the systemic causes of injustice, and dedicated to bringing about meaningful change.  We are committed to building a diverse workforce that is representative, at all job levels, of the communities where we work, partner, and serve.  We believe that diversity and equity among our teammates is critical to our success as an organization and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.  Those most affected by food access issues remain significantly underrepresented in our work and in our sector, and we strongly encourage applicants from traditionally marginalized and underrepresented groups.
